^ This unit only appeared on hard difficulty.^ a b These units did not appear on easy difficulty. They then hastened north, and despite the orcs' best efforts, they entered the sewer of Southbay. The refugees slew Caror and seized the Book of Fire and Darkness from within his robes. Haldric uttered the words required in order for the spell to be undone, releasing Caror from his imprisonment, who immediately sensed the Ruby of Fire. Upon arriving outside Caror's fortress, where he and his undead minions were petrified, Haldric found a monolith with an inscribed message briefly detailing the spell. As orcish warlords Ut'Tan-Grilg and Tan-Pulk mobilized for war, a pair of hostile yetis, Rarlg and Raul-Rarlg, appeared from the mountains nearby the orcs, attacking them. They disembarked, Jessene reassuring Haldric that she would probably be able to translate the Book of Fire and Darkness. Haldric landed at Fallen Lich Point, though his arrival was noted by nearby orcs guarding the entrance to the sewers of Southbay. 40% of gold carried over to the next scenario.Defeat all enemy leaders (early finish bonus).Rather than traveling directly to the Kingdom of Southbay, Jessene decided to stop at the Fallen Lich Point to obtain the Book of Fire and Darkness to help understand the Ruby of Fire. Some time thereafter, they reached Clearwater Port, and set sail. While in the Oldwood Forest, Haldric had descended beneath a temple, slain the Lich-Lord Lenvan, and obtained the Ruby of Fire. Īfter the Green Isle had been overwhelmed by orcs, Haldric was forced to lead the refugees of Stormvale, with help from Lady Jessene's Wesfolk. The spell could only be broken when someone from the line of Green Isle kings uttered a magic phrase. When war ensued between the Wesfolk and Prince Haldric's people, however, the latter used magi for the first time in battle, and successfully petrified Caror along with his tome, gaining an advantage over the Wesfolk. It never stopped being cool.Prior to the first Wesfolk War, the Lich-Lord Caror studied the Ruby of Fire, and wrote his discoveries within a tome called the Book of Fire and Darkness. Also, for some reason, my computer took way longer to extract the files manually into the Wesnoth folder I created than the old installer ever did when making its own, so using an installer might speed things up there, too. The orcish invasion of the northlands is always in the background. It could also be harder for less tech-savvy people to place somewhere on their computer without an installer, if they're used to mobile file systems. This campaign features his life before his transformation, his resistance to the growing strength of the orcs under a new sovereign called Zorlan (can be found in 'Delfador's Memoirs'), and the circumstances under which he became a lich and a menace to the orcs. ![]() ![]() There's also the issue of accessibility- I was a child when I first started playing Wesnoth, and it might have taken a lot longer for me to be able to really install new versions of Wesnoth on my own if it didn't come with an installer to do all the hard file-location-finding for me. made the game feel more professional, for it to have a customized multi-language game install wizard that walked you through installing the game, and even made Start menu and Desktop shortcuts for you. It's a tiny detail, but I have to admit I miss it. Might ask this on the forum, GitHub, or Discord later, but can Wesnoth maybe come with an installer again, like it did on SourceForge? That was a great experience! Keep up the good work guys! □ don't have anything to add here? Lol I'm using a template to rate games so, this feedback section is here but honestly, as I was playing, I never had a feeling of "Damnit! I wish this thing was different." Everything just, felt right to me.? Maybe I'm not used to this genre enough to see the flaws or maybe I didn't play long enough but, I haven't found anything wrong honestly. I'd say the most satisfying part about this was specially to figure out a way to use your environment the right way and crush your enemy using your brain instead of just raw strength. Not gonna lie, I felt pretty weak at the start when I was owned by a dummy but then, when I got the hang of it, it was pretty interesting. With the new mountains and the new villages that people are currently playing with, I feel there are some ideas on that map that fit nicely with Wesnoth and could be copied. To be honest, this isn't the kind of game I play very often because I'm worried that I might get showered with way too much information but in this game, how to play was pretty straight forward. Reason I raise the subjest is that I feel that the terrain style on the Dragon Pass map is very close to the style of Wesnoth. Well, that was a very interesting strategy game! ♟️
